{"id":2612,"date":"2022-08-22T10:47:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T09:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/08\/22\/offshore-charging-hub\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:58:26","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:58:26","slug":"offshore-charging-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/projects-initiatives-greenport\/offshore-charging-hub\/","title":{"rendered":"Offshore charging hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The study, which will run until the end of the year, will develop a roadmap for the potential introduction of offshore charging infrastructure developed by Maersk Supply Service-owned Stillstrom.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s ocean clean-tech concept provides a platform for vessels to use either wind-generated or grid electricity whilst on standby outside port, thereby reducing the use of fossil fuels whilst vessels idle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInnovative thinking and practices are crucial if we\u2019re to achieve a green maritime industry,\u201d said Bob Sanguinetti, chief executive, Port of Aberdeen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to working with Stillstrom to develop low carbon power supply and reduce emissions from vessels on standby outside our port. Pioneering projects, like renewable offshore charging, will help to make our vision of becoming Scotland\u2019s premier net zero port a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stillstrom chief executive Kristian B.
