{"id":2755,"date":"2022-10-14T12:06:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T11:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/10\/14\/thames-shore-power\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:59:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:59:30","slug":"thames-shore-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/thames-shore-power\/","title":{"rendered":"Thames shore power"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Smartdocks are being installed between Westminster and Dartford by Net Zero Marine Services (NZMS), providing emissions-free charging and other services to power six million passenger trips and move four million tonnes of cargo per year by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur projects will deliver first-of-a-kind shore power infrastructure on a tidal river for commercial applications, and demonstrate our commitment to reducing emissions and noise and improving air quality across the whole Thames Estuary,\u201d said NZMS director, Miles Cole.<\/p>\n<p>In another first for the capital\u2019s push for decarbonisation, <em>Oceandiva London<\/em> \u2013 a floating events space \u2013 will become the UK\u2019s first carbon-neutral vessel to benefit from this innovative technology when it takes to the water later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Powered by 100% renewable energy, <em>Oceandiva London<\/em> is supported by onboard solar panels and a back-up biofuel generator for longer excursions.
