{"id":2938,"date":"2022-12-20T09:38:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-20T09:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2022\/12\/20\/valencia-solar-park\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:00:41","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:00:41","slug":"valencia-solar-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/europe-greenport\/valencia-solar-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Valencia solar park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The contract worth just over \u20ac3 million, will see the park be built over a surface area of 6,420 square metres at the&nbsp;Pr\u00edncipe Felipe dock in the Port of Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>When completed, the solar park will generate 2,353 MWh\/year, that is, 3% of the electrical energy consumed by the port.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benchmark project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the first of the photovoltaic plants being developed in the Valencian precinct which will enable progress to be made in the self-supply of green energy to the Port of Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>This project is financed by the Next Generation funds of the European Union and the Spanish Government\u2019s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PAV has also put another solar park out to tender for the roof of the Valencia Terminal Europa vehicle warehouse which will involve an investment of \u20ac17 million.<\/p>\n<p>The port authority is currently in the process of evaluating the bids.
