{"id":2985,"date":"2023-01-04T11:57:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-04T11:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2023\/01\/04\/h2-testing-programme-begins\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:01:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:01:03","slug":"h2-testing-programme-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/h2-testing-programme-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"H2 testing programme begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Technicians from Valenciaport, the National Hydrogen Centre and the company Carburos Met\u00e1licos will supervise the operation, the first of its kind in a Spanish port.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout January a range of tests will be carried out with materials such as nitrogen, helium and hydrogen to test the elements and mechanisms that make up the hydrogen generator at the Port of Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>The generator was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/h2ports-project-on-track\/1474565.article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">installed last July as part of the \u20ac4 million H2Ports project<\/a>. Positioning Valencia as the \u2018pioneering and emblematic port in Europe in the development of hydrogen technologies\u2019, it will supply compressed gas to a range of prototype equipment including a reach stacker and container stacker.<\/p>\n<p>A conventional 4\u00d74 tractor unit will also be adapted with the addition of an H2 fuel cell for loading and unloading operations at Valencia Terminal Europa of the Grimaldi Group.
