{"id":3006,"date":"2023-01-13T11:39:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-13T11:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2023\/01\/13\/shore-power-electrifies-leith\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:01:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:01:14","slug":"shore-power-electrifies-leith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/energy-technology-greenport\/shore-power-electrifies-leith\/","title":{"rendered":"Shore power electrifies Leith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Victoria 1<\/em>, which is currently housing Ukrainian refugees, is the first vessel to use the non-fossil fuel shore power in the Imperial Dock in the Port of Leith.<\/p>\n<p>David Webster, director of Energy at Forth Ports said the port was committed to emissions. \u201cThis major civil engineering project to introduce shore power in Leith is a significant milestone for our business in Scotland and we are pleased that the Victoria 1 is now powered by mains electricity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The electrical network in the port has been extended and integrated to the vessel\u2019s systems through a PSW Power &amp; Automation shore power transformer.
