Public charging stations are also available in the central areas of the port with more scheduled for 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really great to see the transition happening here and now,\u201d said Elvir Dzanic, chief executive at the Gothenburg Port Authority. \u201cFrom the port\u2019s perspective, it\u2019s important that we continue to lower the thresholds for those wanting to make the transition to a climate-smarter transport system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Skarasl\u00e4ttens\u2019 three electric trucks represent an important milestone for the Port of Gothenburg and more haulage companies and freight forwarders are preparing to deploy electric heavy trucks.<\/p>\n<p>DFDS is one example, with plans to use many of the more than 120 electric heavy trucks they have on order in flows at the Port of Gothenburg later this year.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021 the Tranzero Initiative project launched, aimed at increasing the move to alternative fuels and electricity, with a special focus on land-based transport to and from the port.
