The Hydrogen Innovation \u2013 Future Infrastructure & Vessel Evaluation and Demonstration (HI-FIVED) consortium will receive over \u00a33.8m of funding to build and showcase autonomous vessel and bunkering infrastructure technologies for liquid hydrogen.<\/p>\n
The \u00a35.4m project is expected to be delivered in autumn of 2024 and aims to establish a green shipping corridor between Aberdeen and the Orkney and Shetland Islands, with the world\u2019s first hydrogen-powered autonomous surface ships being used to transport cargo.<\/p>\n
Led by ACUA Ocean and Unitrove, the consortium involves key players including the Port of Aberdeen, the University of Southampton, Zero Emissions Maritime Technology, Composite Manufacturing and Design, Trident Marine Electrical, and NASH Maritime.<\/p>\n
