Under a joint levy with new occupants at London Gateway Logistics Park \u2013 part of the Thames Freeport tax zone \u2013 the funds will be distributed to promote community projects, social infrastructure and skills training in the area. <\/p>\n

Community engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n DP World is no stranger to corporate and social responsibility.<\/p>\n For ten years, it has been supporting local causes in the UK such as Little Haven\u2019s Hospice, Meningitis Now, the South Essex Wildlife Hospital and STEM teaching for South Essex schoolchildren, as well as its award-winning apprenticeship scheme.<\/p>\n Over the last decade, DP World has invested GB\u00a32 billion in the UK and over the next ten years has earmarked a further GB\u00a31 billion of investment, including a GB\u00a3350 million new fourth berth at London Gateway, which will raise capacity by a third when it is completed next year.<\/p>\n The investment is helping act as a catalyst for the regeneration of some of the most deprived areas in the UK. The construction of the new fourth berth supports 1,000 jobs and the rapidly growing logistics park will employ 12,000 people when it is completed in five years.<\/p>\n
