{"id":3658,"date":"2023-09-06T11:12:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T10:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2023\/09\/06\/new-short-sea-service-to-connect-europe-and-africa\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:06:29","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:06:29","slug":"new-short-sea-service-to-connect-europe-and-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/products-services-greenport\/new-short-sea-service-to-connect-europe-and-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"New short sea service to connect Europe and Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beginning on 19 September, the service will link UK, France and northern Europe with Casablanca in Morocco, replacing the existing NWC Iberia and MOPT services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLondon Thamesport is well established as one of the leading short sea container ports in the southeast of England, with a proven track record for excellent service delivery,\u201d said Mark Taylor, director Hutchison Ports London Thamesport.<\/p>\n<p>The service will run twice weekly, providing a greener alternative to truck transport from west France to the UK and helping Hutchison achieve its net-zero by 2035 ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>The weekly \u2018Euro Maroc Service\u2019 will be operated by three 800 teu vessels on a 21-day fixed day rotation.
