The demonstrator project aims to cut vessel emissions at the berths by more than 80% compared with burning marine fuel and reduce CO2 emissions by more than 60,000 tonnes over the next 20 years.<\/p>\n
The port says that \u2018Shore Power in Operation\u2019 will also pave the way for the roll-out of green shore power across North Harbour, slashing the port\u2019s total emissions by 78%.<\/p>\n

Details of the \u2018Shore Power in Operation\u2019 project, part of the Department for Transport\u2019s Zero Emissions Vessels and Infrastructure competition, were unveiled at London International Shipping Week.<\/p>\n
The project follows a feasibility study last year funded by the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition. The new funding will see the design and installation of shore power facilities at seven berths on Albert Quay and Mearns Quay in the port\u2019s North Harbour which are slated to be in operation by April 2025 at the latest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
