{"id":3780,"date":"2023-10-13T10:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-13T09:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2023\/10\/13\/sulzer-to-equip-biomethanol-plant\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:07:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:07:10","slug":"sulzer-to-equip-biomethanol-plant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/sulzer-to-equip-biomethanol-plant\/","title":{"rendered":"Sulzer to equip biomethanol plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Veolia plant in \u00c4\u00e4nekoski will use Sulzer\u2019s separation technology and flow equipment to convert raw pulp mill waste into commercial grade biomethanol suitable for a wide range of industries such as transportation and chemical sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur market-leading technologies and products advance both sustainable energy and circular practices,\u201d said Sulzer\u2019s Chemtech Division president Uwe Boltersdorf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSulzer\u2019s innovations are designed to enable efficient processes in support of bio-based and renewable manufacturing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new plant \u2013 reportedly the world\u2019s largest \u2013 will produce 12,000 tons of biomethanol per year for use in downstream chemical manufacturing or biofuel.<\/p>\n<p>Sulzer\u2019s ECR separation technology will be used by ANDRITZ to transform the waste from a local pulp mill into biomethanol.
