{"id":4338,"date":"2024-05-24T12:46:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-24T11:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2024\/05\/24\/worlds-first-green-methanol-carrier-sets-sail\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:10:06","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:10:06","slug":"worlds-first-green-methanol-carrier-sets-sail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/worlds-first-green-methanol-carrier-sets-sail\/","title":{"rendered":"World\u2019s first green methanol carrier sets sail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Laura Maersk<\/em> now runs a new feeder service between the Port of Gothenburg and Bremerhaven in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the arrival of <em>Laura Maersk<\/em> on a weekly basis, we are now connecting Gothenburg to a green corridor in northern Europe and giving Swedish-based customers direct access to the world\u2019s first methanol-enabled container vessel,\u201d said Birna \u00d6defors, area managing director Nordics at AP Moller Maersk.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Laura Maersk<\/em> is the first vessel in Maersk\u2019s major initiative to use renewable methanol as a ship fuel.
