As a joint venture between APM Terminals and ENNA Group, the container terminal at Rijeka will be one of the most advanced in the Adriatic, with electrified and remotely operated equipment. <\/p>\n

Clean power<\/strong><\/p>\n The terminal\u2019s renewable energy will come from solar and wind power, supplied by ENNA Next, ensuring sustainability from the construction phase through to full operations. This initiative will also create 300 jobs, further boosting the local economy.<\/p>\n With renewable energy powering its operations, Rijeka Gateway will reduce environmental impacts while setting a new standard for ports.<\/p>\n CEO of Rijeka Gateway, Peter Corfitsen, highlighted the terminal\u2019s environmental initiatives: \u201cUsing renewable energy is essential for the terminal\u2019s long-term sustainability. We aim to be more than an economic engine \u2013 we want to be a good neighbour, reducing our environmental footprint.\u201d<\/p>\n The terminal will incorporate state-of-the-art technology to minimise light, noise and marine pollution. Shore-side electricity will reduce the need for ship engines and advanced systems will manage water and drainage efficiently.<\/p>\n This aligns with APM Terminals\u2019 commitment to decarbonise operations and reach net zero emissions by 2040.<\/p>\n Operating fully on renewable energy also supports A.P.
