The collaborators recently achieved a a milestone with the successful trial and commissioning of ONE\u2019s AMP container at NZPG\u2019s terminal. This marked the first time a vessel at a Chinese port utilised shore power through Lift-on\/Lift-off operations of an AMP container.<\/p>\n
Moving forward<\/strong><\/p>\n Following the trial, ONE and NZPG held a symposium on 6 December to share best practices and explore innovative approaches to shore power utilisation.<\/p>\n The event highlighted ONE\u2019s nearly decade-long experience in utilizing Alternative Marine Power (AMP) containers on the U.S. West Coast.<\/p>\n The symposium kicked off with an opening speech from ONE Global Chief Officer, Hiroki Tsujii.<\/p>\n \u201cOne approach to reduce carbon footprint is through shore power usage. We will introduce the utilisation of a containerized AMP unit to support further reduction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe use of an AMP unit is a familiar and effective approach within this industry. To be successful, close cooperation among various concerned parties is necessary.
