It will reduce both noise and local particle pollution caused by ships using diesel generators. This benefits both the residents of the surrounding area and the employees at the port,\u201d said Anne Zachariassen, COO at the Port of Aarhus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tried and tested<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new shore power facility, to be installed at the port\u2019s container terminal, will be one of the most advanced in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>It follows the successful launch of a similar system at Aarhus\u2019 cruise terminal, where 68% of ships utilised shore power in 2024. Once fully completed, the system will be capable of supplying electricity to up to four container ships simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud that PowerCon\u2019s technology and expertise contribute to a vision that sets new standards for green port operations,\u201d said&nbsp;Jacob Bjarkam, head of sales at PowerCon.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative aligns with European efforts to reduce port emissions and support sustainable maritime operations.
