This milestone is detailed in the company\u2019s newly released Sustainability Report, which highlights bold environmental and social action across its global operations.<\/p>\n
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, group chair and chief executive DP World, said the report reflected a year of real progress. \u201cSourcing 65% of our electricity from renewable sources across the business, being the first corporate to launch a Blue Bond in the region and delivering impact in the communities in which we operate show what\u2019s possible when sustainability is embedded into the heart of the business,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the result of bold investments, rigorous accountability and a belief that we can build a future where commerce and climate resilience go hand in hand.\u201d<\/p>\n
DP World invested US$1.17 billion in green and low-carbon infrastructure projects, supported by its US$1.5 billion Green Sukuk issued in 2023.<\/p>\n
The company\u2019s inaugural Green Sukuk Impact and Allocation Report, published in October, outlines funding allocations toward renewable energy systems, fleet electrification and other low-carbon initiatives.<\/p>\n
In another first, DP World became the only corporate from Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa to issue a US$100 million Blue Bond, aimed at financing sustainable marine and port infrastructure and water-positive projects.<\/p>\n
The report also showcases a US$15.1 million investment in global education, skills development and essential infrastructure initiatives.<\/p>\n
Built in line with Global Reporting Initiative Standards and aligned with IFRS S2 Climate guidelines, the report includes decarbonisation targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, with improved environmental and social governance ratings from MSCI and EcoVadis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
