Moeve, formerly Cepsa, has a 90-year history in the region, supplying biofuels from its San Roque and La R\u00e1bida energy parks to serve major ports like Algeciras<\/a> and Barcelona.<\/p>\n Sergio V\u00e9lez, chief executive of Armas Trasmediterr\u00e1nea, highlighted the deal as a milestone in the company\u2019s sustainability roadmap, noting that the ferry operator has long been investing in emission-reducing measures. \u201cThis reinforces our commitment to protecting the marine environment \u2013 our workplace and our shared heritage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Port authorities welcomed the agreement as pivotal for green energy transition. Beatriz Calzada, president of Las Palmas Port Authority, praised the move as \u2018fully aligned with our green fuel strategy\u2019, while Pedro Su\u00e1rez of Santa Cruz de Tenerife emphasised its role in making port operations more sustainable and competitive.<\/p>\n Moeve\u2019s 2G biofuels can cut CO\u2082 emissions by up to 90% over their life cycle, and are compatible with current ship infrastructure.<\/p>\n
