Costing around \u20ac80 million the emissions-free vessel was built at the Cemre shipyard and tested under the scrutiny of Lloyd\u2019s Register.<\/p>\n

The new vessel will soon begin its journey to the Fehmarnbelt, where it will serve the busy route between R\u00f8dbyhavn, Denmark, and Puttgarden, Germany. At 147.4 metres it has 1,200 lane metres of freight capacity and can carry 140 passengers.<\/p>\n
In R\u00f8dbyhavn, a 50 kV\/25 MW shore power system will allow the ferry to recharge in just 17 minutes whilst Puttgarden will follow with a 12-minute charging capability by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n
The ferry\u2019s automated charging tower connects within 15 seconds, regardless of tidal changes, ensuring quick and efficient operations. Whilst primarily designed for emission-free travel, the vessel includes three diesel generators for flexibility and hybrid operation during delivery from Turkey.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis ferry is more than a ship \u2013 it\u2019s a strategic investment in the future of green freight,\u201d said Nielsen.<\/p>\n
