{"id":5531,"date":"2025-07-29T10:10:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T09:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2025\/07\/29\/renewable-hydrogen-focus-at-rotterdam\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:17:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:17:24","slug":"renewable-hydrogen-focus-at-rotterdam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/alternative-fuels-greenport\/renewable-hydrogen-focus-at-rotterdam\/","title":{"rendered":"Renewable hydrogen focus at Rotterdam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the Port of Rotterdam, it\u2019s another important step forward in its transition to a CO2-neutral port.<\/p>\n<p>The plant, which will located at the conversion park at the Maasvlakte area, will feature an electrolyser that splits water in order to produce hydrogen at a capacity of 200 MW.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Renewable hydrogen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Air Liquide\u2019s electrolyser will produce electricity from&nbsp;renewable hydrogen from windfarms in the North Sea.<\/p>\n<p>In all, there is space for four of these large electrolysers on this special industrial site. The one from Air Liquide is the second to be built and the investment amounts to more than \u20ac500 million.<\/p>\n<p>The ELYgator will produce 23,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year for use by the industry and heavy transport.
