Cost-competitive<\/strong><\/p>\n Prema\u2019s HVO30 marine fuel appeals to ports and vessel operators because it offers a practical, cost-competitive path to emissions reduction without requiring massive infrastructure porjects or engine modifications.<\/p>\n HVO30 is made from 99%+ waste feedstock, usually used cooking oil, ensuring sustainability from production to pump.<\/p>\n The removal of duty for the fuel in the UK has brought its price close to conventional marine fuels, with further competitiveness expected as demand grows.<\/p>\n Beyond avoiding potential fines and reputational risks tied to high-emission fuels, Prema said that switching can also strengthen contract bids where Scope 3 emissions are scrutinised.<\/p>\n Take the example of the Port of London Authority.
