fossil-free steel supplied by SSAB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur investment in a fossil-free steel spreader for RTG crane at Sokhna marks a key step in addressing upstream Scope 3 emissions across our port operations,\u201d said Andy Tam, global vice president of energy management, DP World.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy adopting cargo handling equipment with lower manufacturing emissions, we are actively driving forward with our global decarbonisation agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Same high standards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bromma said that the fossil-free steel maintains the same high-strength specifications as conventional materials, validated through extensive laboratory and real-world testing.<\/p>\n<p>Results have been published in a <a href=\"https:\/\/bromma.com\/fossil-free-steel-white-paper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">technical white paper<\/a>, supported by both laboratory testing and real-world analysis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Key findings show a more than 90% reduction in manufacturing emissions and a 66% cut in total lifecycle emissions, which the port equipment manufacturer said proves the material\u2019s durability and climate impact benefits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a meaningful step toward reducing carbon emissions in container handling equipment,\u201d said Joakim Heijbel, head of sustainability at Bromma.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to be the first to integrate fossil-free steel into a yard spreader, in partnership with DP World.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled for delivery in September 2025, this delivery is part of Bromma\u2019s broader strategy to lead
