A new memorandum of understanding (MOU) sets a framework for port collaboration aimed at transitioning container freight from fossil fuels to electric power in line with Nigeria\u2019s Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy policies.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that Nigeria is ideally situated to lead West Africa\u2019s transition to low-carbon logistics by electrifying its container transport sector,\u201d said Frederik Klinke, CEO of APM Terminals Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cNigeria is Africa\u2019s largest economy and trade hub, and our research shows us that the country can leapfrog fossil-fuel infrastructure by adopting proven electric technologies. Therefore, we are very optimistic about our joint plans to start shaping the phased roadmap of a electrified future for container logistics.\u201d<\/p>\n
