{"id":5891,"date":"2025-11-27T13:13:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T13:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2025\/11\/27\/felixstowe-expands-autonomous-truck-fleet\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:19:44","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:19:44","slug":"felixstowe-expands-autonomous-truck-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/europe-greenport\/felixstowe-expands-autonomous-truck-fleet\/","title":{"rendered":"Felixstowe expands autonomous truck fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/operations\/felixstowe-powers-ahead-ahead-with-smart-trucks\/1504823.article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The order was placed in September and will double the port\u2019s existing fleet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clemence Cheng, executive director of Hutchison Ports and chief executive of the Port of Felixstowe, said the delivery represents a \u2018step forward in LiDAR technology\u2019 and a continuation of the port\u2019s efforts to integrate autonomous systems alongside its human workforce.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe improvements incorporated in the new machines will now be retrofitted to our existing fleet,\u201d he said, adding that upgrades are expected to enhance operational efficiency and performance.<\/p>\n<p>Kenny Tan, founder and chair of Westwell, highlighted the milestone in the context of the company\u2019s 10th anniversary. \u201cWestwell is proud to empower the 150-year legacy of the Port of Felixstowe with our proprietary Ainergy technology,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Felixstowe\u2019s ATs were Europe\u2019s first autonomous trucks to operate in a mixed-traffic environment.
