The eco-engineered panels, developed with Living Seawalls \u2013 a programme of the Sydney Institute of Marine Science \u2013 are designed to convert flat quay walls into vibrant marine habitats.<\/p>\n
The project will expand to 6,000 panels by 2028, creating the region\u2019s longest continuous ecosystem-supporting waterfront and setting a new regional benchmark for nature-positive port development.<\/p>\n

Biodiversity focus<\/strong><\/p>\n Each modular panel is engineered with varied shapes and textures that mimic natural rock formations, encouraging colonisation by marine species.<\/p>\n Biodiversity monitoring at Jebel Ali will begin in 2026, generating insights into how ports can strengthen ecological resilience.
