The installation is for the Filipstad cruise quay, which is a key maritime hub located directly in the heart of the city. It will play an important role in balancing efficient operations with the needs of an urban environment.<\/p>\n

With Filipstad\u2019s cruise activity taking place close to offices, residential areas and public spaces, reducing local noise and emissions is especially important for the people who live and work nearby.<\/p>\n

Mobile solution<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is where ShoreLink\u2019s CruiseLink Mobile S comes in. The solution is designed to be lighter, smarter and more agile than permanent installtions on the quayside.<\/p>\n

The unit features a near-zero turning radius and a 55-metre cable reel operable from both sides. This makes it particularly well suited for city ports, enabling seamless integration without disrupting daily operations.<\/p>\n

Shore power allows vessels to shut down their auxiliary engines while alongside and connect directly to the local grid supporting the port\u2019s continued transition toward a more sustainable and environmentally responsible harbour.<\/p>\n

ShoreLink announced the launch of CruiseLink Mobile S<\/a> at the end of last year.<\/p>\n

The Estonia-based shore power company said that the solution was developed with a sharper focus on cruise-sector electrification, offering ports and terminals a compact shore power system designed specifically for where space is at a premium.<\/p>\n

CruiseLink Mobile S is built around a lightweight, self-propelled cable management unit that can be operated by a single person.<\/p>\n

The system signals a shift in the company\u2019s product strategy as it aims to address one of the main barriers to shorepower adoption in the cruise industry \u2013 the lack of available quay space for traditional fixed installations.<\/p>\n
