Its new capability positions Immingham at the forefront of supplying low-carbon fuels to the maritime sector.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/podcasts\/podcast-leading-the-uks-green-energy-transition\/1503617.article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">LISTEN: Leading the UK\u2019s green energy transition<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The service has been launched in partnership with Exolum, Methanex Corporation and \u00d8rsted. Exolum will operate the storage and fuelling infrastructure at its Immingham facility, while Methanex will supply the bio-methanol. \u00d8rsted will be the first operator to bunker at the port, fuelling its North Sea offshore wind farm service vessels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis initiative marks a significant milestone for the Port of Immingham and the wider maritime sector,\u201d said Steven Clapperton, head of Marine (Humber) at Associated British Ports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy enabling biomethanol bunkering, we are taking practical steps toward decarbonising one of the hardest-to-abate industries.
