{"id":6660,"date":"2009-10-28T12:24:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-28T12:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2009\/10\/28\/gulftainer-invests-in-the-future\/"},"modified":"2009-10-28T12:24:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-28T12:24:00","slug":"gulftainer-invests-in-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/middle-east\/gulftainer-invests-in-the-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Gulftainer invests in the future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gulftainer&#8217;s group commercial manager Keith Nuttall explains to<\/p>\n<p> <i>Port Strategy<\/i> <\/p>\n<p>that speed and efficiency have been the key drivers for this continued growth.<\/p>\n<p>The terminals in Sharjah and Khorfakkan continue to be recognised as being the fastest, most flexible and most cost competitive &#8211; and lines vote with their feet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As the operator of Khorfakkan Container Terminal and Sharjah Container Terminal in the UAE, Gulftainer recognised early on in the crisis that investment, not divestment, was crucial for survival.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Gulftainer and the Sharjah government have invested &#8216;ahead of demand&#8217; to cater to the requirements of shipping line customers, whose increasingly large ships need good, efficient facilities,&#8221; says Mr Nuttall.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Standing still and hoping for the best was not and is not, an option.
