Christine Nelson, environment manager, and Callum Couper, port manager, ABP South Wales, recovered the swarm of bees that had settled on a bench at Cardiff Bay Barrage.<\/p>\n
Callum Couper, port manager, ABP South Wales said: \u201cAware that we look after bee hives at the port, Cardiff Harbour Authority contacted us to ask if we would be interested in rehoming the bees \u2013 to which we of course said yes.<\/p>\n
\u201cBiodiversity projects are an important part of our port environment, and it\u2019s great that we\u2019ve once again been able to give a swarm of bees a new home.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ongoing work<\/strong><\/p>\n In August last year, Mr Couper, relocated another swarm from a quayside crane at the Port of Newport to the Port of Cardiff estate.<\/p>\n The Port of Cardiff has kept a small apiary at Queen Alexandra Dock for the past six years as part of its biodiversity programme.
