TRANSEC in the UK is currently undertaking assessments and reviews only of the key ports, approximately 30 or so in total. These reviews are throwing up a number of key questions regarding the current security and preparedness of individual ports, who are now realising the extent of the necessary work - and the cost - which is to be passed on to the port users.
