{"id":8328,"date":"2011-10-17T14:14:00","date_gmt":"2011-10-17T13:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2011\/10\/17\/apm-to-take-over-gothenburgs-skandia-container-terminal\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:41:33","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:41:33","slug":"apm-to-take-over-gothenburgs-skandia-container-terminal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/europe\/apm-to-take-over-gothenburgs-skandia-container-terminal\/","title":{"rendered":"APM to take over Gothenburg\u2019s Skandia container terminal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The company are looking to invest a total of $115m into the terminal over the next five years with the aim of making the terminal more competitive as a Nordic freight hub.<\/p>\n<p>The deal follows the bid made by APM in September to manage the port for the next 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>It is subject to approval from the Swedish Competition Authorities and provided this is given, the planned transfer of management will take place in the first quarter of 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Martin Poulsen, chief executive of APM Terminals Europe Region said: \u201cOur vision is to continue strengthening Skandia Container Terminal\u2019s position as a key trade gateway in Sweden and an economic generator for the country.
