He added: \u201cThe licence agreement with KALP is another important milestone on our journey to provide seamless integration between the critical elements of terminal operations.\u201d<\/p>\n
The acquisition of the terminal operating system (TOS) provider Navis in early 2011 certainly helped mark a major milestone for Cargotec on the journey towards automation.<\/p>\n
All marine container operators are of course always striving for reduced costs, higher productivity and worker safety and seem to be increasingly looking towards automation to achieve this.<\/p>\n
Cargotec suggest that by using automation to insert and remove semi automatic twistlocks on the quayside, the coning and de-coning process is reduced from 20 seconds down to just 1 \u2013 an obvious boost to productivity.<\/p>\n
