{"id":8443,"date":"2012-03-20T17:51:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-20T17:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2012\/03\/20\/apmt-focuses-on-african-integration\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:42:44","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:42:44","slug":"apmt-focuses-on-african-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/africa\/apmt-focuses-on-african-integration\/","title":{"rendered":"APMT focuses on African integration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reik Mueller, a business development director for the Africa-Middle East region at APMT, addressed delegates on the topic of dry ports and inland corridors at the third annual Africa Ports, Logistics &amp; Supply Chain Conference this week.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mueller described dry port and inland waterways as \u201cuntapped markets\u201d and \u201coverlooked opportunity markets of the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The future prosperity of these markets, he argued, would depend upon access to global economy and new markets. He said: \u201cThe ports that can provide the best and most efficient connectivity to those inland markets will be the winners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ports are already strongly competing to become preferred gateways to move goods efficiently through landlocked countries like Africa.
