{"id":8489,"date":"2012-05-30T11:55:00","date_gmt":"2012-05-30T10:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2012\/05\/30\/advanced-mts-for-manila\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:43:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:43:04","slug":"advanced-mts-for-manila","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/asia\/advanced-mts-for-manila\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced MTS for Manila"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Composed of one tractor unit and several trailers, a MAFI MTS can simultaneously carry three forty foot containers and is the newest and one of the most advanced pieces of equipment at the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT).<\/p>\n<p>The MTS allows for the transportation of more containers in a single haul compared to the traditional single-trailer system.<\/p>\n<p>ICTSI now deploys short MTS (two or three trailers in a set) at the MICT Berth 5 for short-distance trips to and from Berth 6.<\/p>\n<p>One MAFI tractor can handle multiple trailer sets in \u2018ship-to-stack\u2019 mode. Meanwhile, an MTS made up of three trailers can transport containers to and from the wharf during vessel operation. In this mode, one tractor can haul a maximum of three forty foot containers or six twenty foot equivalent units in a single travel.<\/p>\n<p>MICT received 16 units of Houcon Holland custom-made trailers for the MTS which arrived recently on the <i>ER Freemantle<\/i>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International Container Terminal Services, Inc.
