{"id":8565,"date":"2012-09-06T14:22:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-06T13:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2012\/09\/06\/d-day-for-psa-at-jnp\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:43:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:43:38","slug":"d-day-for-psa-at-jnp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/asia\/d-day-for-psa-at-jnp\/","title":{"rendered":"D-day for PSA at JNP?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <i>Wall Street Journal <\/i>reported this week that failure to do this may result in PSA facing \u201cpunitive actions\u201d, which could go as far as the operator being banned from bidding for government projects for the next three years.<\/p>\n<p><i>Port Strategy<\/i> approached PSA for a comment this week, but a PSA spokesman declined to talk about the issue.<\/p>\n<p>The contract for the fourth container terminal at JN Port was awarded to the consortium of PSA and India\u2019s ABG Group nearly a year ago. The consortium turned out to be the highest bidder after agreeing to offer just over 50% of the revenue to the Government.<\/p>\n<p>The terminal, with a combined capacity of 4.8m teu annually is set to more than double the port\u2019s capacity upon completion. ABG will be a minority partner in the new terminal with PSA being the major shareholder with a stake of 74%.<\/p>\n<p>The project has been troublesome from the outset for PSA though.
