{"id":901,"date":"2020-02-05T13:37:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T13:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2020\/02\/05\/battery-hybrid-ferries-to-clean-up-the-baltic\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:47:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T12:47:39","slug":"battery-hybrid-ferries-to-clean-up-the-baltic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/energy-technology-greenport\/battery-hybrid-ferries-to-clean-up-the-baltic\/","title":{"rendered":"Battery hybrid ferries to clean up the Baltic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Corvus Energy has been chosen by W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 to supply energy storage systems (ESS) for Finnline\u2019s new battery hybrid ferries, which when completed should be among the most environmentally friendly Ro-Ro vessels in operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is significant potential for fuel and emissions reduction in Ro-Ro ships as they are normally on fixed routes,\u201d said Roger Rosvold, Senior Vice President of Sales at Corvus Energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinnlines [has] invested heavily in technology for all their vessels to reduce emissions.
