{"id":9222,"date":"2015-02-23T16:30:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-23T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2015\/02\/23\/australian-ports-slap-ban-on-vessels\/"},"modified":"2015-02-23T16:30:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-23T16:30:00","slug":"australian-ports-slap-ban-on-vessels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/oceania\/australian-ports-slap-ban-on-vessels\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian ports slap ban on vessels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apps.amsa.gov.au\/MOReview\/Attachment\/ShowAttachment\/1926\" target=\"_blank\">Marine Notice 03\/2015<\/a> stating that vessels not complying with the regulations can be prohibited from using or entering Australian ports for up to 24 months. <\/p>\n<p>AMSA says it can also consider prohibitions on other vessels managed by the same company if the standard of the vessel subject to the ban is &#8220;so poor as to cast significant doubt on the standards of other vessels managed by the same company&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, AMSA has also left the door open to extending the timeframe of the prohibitions if the &#8220;performance of the company as a whole&#8221; is unacceptable. <\/p>\n<p> There are currently four vessels on the list of vessels that have been issued with prohibition directions published on AMSA&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amsa.gov.au\/vessels\/ship-safety\/port-state-control\/refusal\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>, including one vessel which has been banned for a period of 12 months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vessels that are not complying with regulations like safety standards, international labour conventions and marine environment regulations could be banned from Australian ports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[55],"tags":[],"sponsor":[],"class_list":["post-9222","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-oceania"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9222","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=9222"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9222\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9222"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=9222"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=9222"},{"taxonomy":"sponsor","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/sponsor?post=9222"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
