{"id":9256,"date":"2015-05-06T19:51:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-06T18:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2015\/05\/06\/anl-drops-patrick-at-botany\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:50:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:50:07","slug":"anl-drops-patrick-at-botany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/oceania\/anl-drops-patrick-at-botany\/","title":{"rendered":"ANL drops Patrick at Botany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANL gave notice of the change in a statement which said the decision \u201cfollows short-term impacts to ANL\u2019s strict weekly schedule as a result of the recent finalisation of Patrick\u2019s Port Botany redevelopment project\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick\u2019s Port Botany container terminal was closed from March 29 to April 2 for the final commissioning of its redevelopment and automation project.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick had been positive about the switchover, and had subcontracted vessels during the shutdown to terminals operated DP World Australia or Hutchison Ports Australia, while changes were made such as the commissioning of Kalmar Autostrads. The unmanned straddles service the quayside ship-to-shore gantries and the landside road exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>However the changeover was followed by periods of bad weather which reportedly triggered safety systems in the new automated operation.<\/p>\n<p>ANL has recently launched its TranzTas service as a premium offering between Australia and New Zealand, which requires high reliability.
