The 9th GreenPort Congress will therefore focus on improving the relationship between the ports, its users, customers and stakeholders, who will all be involved throughout the programme.<\/p>\n<div id=\"content_div_939897\">\n<p><strong>* Port Authorities<\/strong> will learn about responding to stakeholders expectations, air and water quality issues, dealing with waste and financing R&amp;D projects<br \/><strong>* Terminal Operators<\/strong> will find out the impact of regional and global shipping regulations and their impact on ports, how to improve air quality, green clauses in concessions and lease agreements<br \/><strong>* Logistics providers and shippers<\/strong> will be informed about the environmental footprint of port logistic chains, hinterland connections and green services for infrastructure development<br \/><strong>* Shipowners<\/strong> will learn about incentives for green port users and differentiated port dues<\/p>\n<p>With representatives from all port stakeholders in attendance, the conference will offer unprecedented opportunities for networking and for the exchange of information and ideas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The call for papers has now been released and abstracts are invited on the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tools for green ports to respond to stakeholders\u2019 expectations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Green logistics\/hinterland connections: Environmental footprint of port logistic chains; Green services\/Infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>Incentives to green port users: Differentiated port dues; Green clauses in concessions and lease agreements<\/p>\n<p>Communications and reporting: sustainability reporting; website information<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meeting the forthcoming challenges for green ports:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Air Quality: LNG; Shore side electricity; Port projects targeting air quality<\/p>\n<p>Water quality: Ballast water; Scrubbers; Port projects targeting water quality<\/p>\n<p>Waste: Cargo residues; Scrubbers sludge; Black and grey water<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>2nd GreenPort Cruise<\/strong> conference will cover the environmental and sustainability issues facing cruise port and terminals across the world as, with the increasing popularity of cruise holidays, ports are seeing a large increase in the size and number of passenger ships visiting. The local infrastructure is also required to cope with the influx of huge numbers of passengers at a time. The <b>GreenPort Cruise <\/b>conference will be held the day before the GreenPort Congress and delegates will have the opportunity to network with stakeholders and suppliers from cruise port and terminals across the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Cruise ports<\/strong> will learn how to avoid congestion in the cruise port, whether to chose Cold ironing or LNG and improving the Port-City interface<br \/><strong>* Cruise terminal operators<\/strong> will hear about waste management solutions and improving cruise ship terminals<br \/><strong>* Cruise ship operators<\/strong> will find out how to avoid noise pollution in city ports<\/p>\n<p>The Call for Papers has now been released and abstracts are invited on the following subjects:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Green mobility in the port<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Port-City interface<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Cold ironing or LNG? The growing impact in port cities<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Waste management in the cruise port<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Avoiding noise pollution by cruise ships in the city<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Improving cruise ship terminals<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Avoiding congestion in the cruise port<\/p>\n<p>Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words and should be received by 24 March 2014 latest.
