{"id":9408,"date":"2015-10-29T15:01:00","date_gmt":"2015-10-29T15:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2015\/10\/29\/big-ideas-at-canaveral\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:50:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:50:57","slug":"big-ideas-at-canaveral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/north-america\/big-ideas-at-canaveral\/","title":{"rendered":"Big ideas at Canaveral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The port has previously used credit to fund the purchase of property near Interstate 95 and State Road 524 for cargo and warehousing operations, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson from the port told <i>Port Strategy<\/i> that some of the development projects already underway at the port include widening and deepening of the harbour, cruise terminal renovations, off-site logistics and warehouses and Surface Transportation Board rail evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to cruise, Canaveral is in the top three busiest cruise ports in the world with more than 4 million passengers annually.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s planning four new terminals in the next ten years with two of them budgeted within the next five years.
