{"id":9503,"date":"2015-11-12T10:39:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-12T10:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portstrategy.nfdtesting.uk\/greenport\/2015\/11\/12\/apmt-sets-stage-for-bahrain-ipo\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T14:51:36","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:51:36","slug":"apmt-sets-stage-for-bahrain-ipo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portstrategy.com\/greenport\/news\/middle-east\/apmt-sets-stage-for-bahrain-ipo\/","title":{"rendered":"APMT sets stage for Bahrain IPO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The IPO aims to give back a stake in the facility to the Bahranian public, the port is designed to handle 1m teu per year.<\/p>\n<p>Peder Sondegaard, CEO of APMT\u2019s Africa and Middle East region, told <em>Port Strategy<\/em> that IPO and listing will take place on the Bahrain Stock Exchange and shares equivalent to a 20% equity stake will be offered next year.<\/p>\n<p>Currently 80% is owned by AMPT and Kanoo hold 20%, but the share offering means APMT\u2019s stake will be diluted to 64%.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sondegaard also said that the financial institution Gulf International Bank (GIB) has been contracted by APMT Bahrain to assist with the IPO.<\/p>\n<p>The IPO was written into the concession agreement signed in 2006 by the partners when they took over the old port.
