Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Container Terminal Operations Department, based at Marine Terminals Limited, Dublin.
Role Purpose: To ensure the Engineering team delivers the maintenance requirements for all assets, plant and equipment throughout the port of Dublin, MTL in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
This role will include the following responsibilities:
-Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with internal policies and procedures and external statutory requirements in relation to health, safety, environment, engineering and quality standards
-Adhering to our Safety365 policies with specific responsibility for ensuring the safe working of all staff and promoting a safe place to work without risk
-Ensure the delivery of Engineering operational objectives and KPIs in line with Peel Ports strategy and customer service requirements
-Lead change management to meet departmental and organisational goals
-Lead Dublin infrastructure, plant and equipment engineering and operational delivery, supporting all requirements as directed by the Head of Container Terminal Operations and Engineering, in line with Group best practices
-Be a role model within the Engineering and Operational teams, demonstrating leadership behaviours, set standards and inspiring others to achieve the departments objectives
-Proactively lead change, champion new approaches, articulate what it means for individuals and promote effective communication
-Management and control of spend, across full life cycle of asset base, in line with annual OpEx plan
Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
-Time served apprentice or possess HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent discipline, and extensive experience within an Engineering Management role is essential
-The role holder must be organised and methodical, performing all tasks in a structured manner in accordance with agreed procedures
-Proven individual and team management, leadership and change management skills
-Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (such as but not limited to PUWER, LOLER, EAWR, PSSR, Asbestos Management and BS 7121)
-Excellent communication skills to ensure that all correspondence, whether verbal or written, is clear, concise and accurate
-Possess an IOSH Managing Safely qualification and full, valid driving licence
