SUCCESSFUL COMMISSIONING OF ONE STS MALACCAMAX CRANE FOR SEAYARD TERMINAL OPERATOR
The new high dimensions gantry crane STS Malaccamax rated amongst the largest cranes in the world and designed for Seayard terminal operator in France successfully came fully into service on November the 13th at Fos-Sur-Mer Terminal (Marseille, France).
This Malaccamax crane design, with an outreach of 67 m to reach 25 rows vessels, a height under spreader of 50 m and a 30.48 m rail span is already in operation in several western Mediterranean areas and has proofed a high productivity and optimized operative costs. The crane is equipped with many of the state-of-the-art features in the industry, including the latest safety devices, AC Siemens Sinamics control system and E-chain instead of festoon system among other top class European components.
PACECO MOMENTUM, as an integral part of PACECO GROUP, contributed to a smooth commissioning of the crane by performing Commissioning, Endurance Test, Manuals, CE Marking and all related Handover Works. The gantry lifted its first containers in commercial operation during the stopover of a Hapag-Lloyd vessel. The setting up of this crane confirms the terminal operator´s intention to expand its capacity and be prepared to serve the largest vessels on the market. PACECO MOMENTUM´s long time experience in the container handling industry will contribute to guarantee a positive experience with the crane and will be closely caring and optimizing Seayard´s good operations. All people involved in this project, as well as the exceptional collaboration and provision of technical and human resources by Seayard have definitely contributed to allow this project to end successfully.
