2011 record year for Brazilian ports

According to the National Waterways Transport Agency (Antaq), the ports sector has doubled in size over the last 12 years, despite the fact that this coincides with a period of limited investment in capacity expansion in public ports.

The government is nevertheless preparing changes to existing legislation to allow the private sector to more easily invest in ports.
