Networks being built in Baltimore

Attendees of GreenPort Congress America, met for the first-time last night at the Welcome Reception.

Hosted by Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore, Maryland Department of Transport and Maryland Department of the Environment at the Top of the World, World Trade Center. Delegates were welcomed with drinks and locally themed canapes and the opportunity to meet fellow members of the port industry.

Delegates from 15 nations were joined by local officials including Earl Lewis, Deputy Secretary of Policy, Planning, and Enterprise Services, Maryland Department of Transport, who was excited to see so many high-level representatives from ports around the world come together to engage in their vision of a greener port.

Andrew Webster, CEO of Mercator Media Ltd, the conference organisers, joined Earl Lewis in welcoming delegates and highlighted the great learning opportunity to help run their organisations better.

Both agreed that Maryland was at the forefront of port greening and the perfect location for the inaugural GreenPort America.
