Navis reveals new workflow application
US-headquartered firm Navis has announced the launch of its Compass visual workflow-management application.
The application standardises how terminals work to improve the quality of planning processes’ overall output and terminal efficiency, as well as digitising workflow.
The announcement was made in March at the Navis World 2019 conference in San Francisco in the US state of California.
The solution uses Navis Smart technology to unlock vast data amounts within the Terminal Operating System for more visibility and speed across all of an operation’s elements.
With end-to-end visual workflow management capabilities, all users can see upcoming vessel visits, comments and important vessel information to know what tasks require doing and who is working on them.
Compass spans the terminal, beginning when ships call it, and includes the activities occurring before, during and after a vessel visit, including berth and vessel-planning, execution, continuous improvement, claims-management and commercial discussions.
The application also features numerous deployment options suitable for all terminals.
Commenting on the product, Younus Aftab, chief product officer at Navis, said: “Our end-to-end application ensures the availability of critical planning information exactly when it is needed, enabling more informed decision-making and better service.”
