Short sea in focus
Coastlink Live is back to help ports expand short sea feeder services and navigate through road-freight supply chain challenges.
Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping and intermodal transport networks through the ports that support the sector.
“With the shortage of truck drivers showing little sign of improving coupled with growing consumer demand for products with a lower environmental impact, supply chains managers are being challenged to find more reliable, safe and sustainable transportation solutions,” said Justin Atkin, UK & Ireland Representative at the Port of Antwerp, who will perform the welcome address at the Coastlink Live event.
The discussion at Coastlink Live will involve a panel of sector experts who will discuss the role that coastal and short sea shipping plays in delivering re-engineered supply chains.

The Coastlink Live speakers will be John Lucy, head of international transport at the Road Haulage Association Ltd; Richard Newton, commercial director Logistics at the Port of Tyne and David Cook, group logistics manager at TATA Consumer Products.
As well as listening to the panel session, attendees will also have the opportunity to present their questions in the live Q&A.

This second live Coastlink Live event being held on Thursday 30 September 2021 at 10:00-11:00 BST is the second to bridge the gap created by the postponement of the in-person Coastlink event in 2021.
The full in person event will now be held on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May 2022 at the Port of Antwerp and will return to deliver the full delegate experience including including the conference dinner and technical visit.
