Felixstowe South emerges from the sea
The first phase of reclamation work at the UKs Felixstowe South development has been completed, with 750,000 cu m of unsuitable material removed and 1.7 cu m of sand placed on site by Westminster Dredging, part of the Royal Boskalis Group.
With the lower and upper bunds behind the line of the new quay wall, as well as the fill behind them now complete, work can start on widening the main approach channel.
The anticipated 600,000 cu m reclaimed from the approach channel will be used to form the new quay at Felixstowe South.
