China Shipping swaps Spanish services
China Shipping has moved its prestigious AEX-1 service, which links the Far East with northern Europe, from Marítima Valenciana in Valencia to TCB in Barcelona.
The service, which is operated by 8,500 teu vessels,has been forced out of Valencia because of rising levels of congestion there.
The company has said that it would have preferred to have moved the vessels to its Valencia hub at TCV, but access restrictions made this impossible.Work to deepen the channel is to begin soon.
In compensation,China Shipping has moved its AMAX service between the Far East and the US from Barcelona to Valencia.
