Aarhus merger streamlines operations
Two neighbours in Denmarks Port of Aarhus have merged to foster a stronger position in the Danish and Baltic markets.
APM Terminals Aarhus and Cargo Service have agreed to combine their two facilities into one port complex to better serve customers. Callers will now benefit from one long contiguous deepwater berth and one set of truck gates, capitalising on the operational synergies of improved use of land, equipment and buildings.
The new company will be called APM Terminals Cargo Service A/S. The current managing director (MD) of APM Terminals Aarhus, Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen, will continue as the head of the merged terminal.
