VeriTainer offers lower-cost radiation detector

Based on the company’s VeriTainer’s crane mounted scanning technology, VeriRAD technology has been field tested at four ports worldwide and has performed over 2m detector lifts without failure.

“With what we are seeing in Genoa and Japan, terminals are demanding asset protection from highly radioactive containers,” said Joe Alioto, chief executive of VeriTainer. “In response to this need, we designed the VeriRAD system to specifically address this threat.”

While the VeriSpreader is a full scale anti-terrorist technology, the VeriRAD is said to provide a “simple and efficient perimeter detection of highly radioactive freight at global terminals” which integrates into existing spreader bars and can be installed and operating in weeks.
